The Salins faience factory was created in 1857 in Salins-les-Bains in Franche-Comté. Specialised in the production of tableware and domestic ceramics. It was taken over in 1912 by Edouard Charbonnier, son of the director of the Longchamp faience factory, who was responsible for boosting the factory, which was awarded a prize at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris.
