The circular top features a contrasting inset panel framed by a crisply carved key-fret (meander) border, a traditional motif symbolizing continuity and longevity.The apron and legs are richly adorned with dynamic dragon carvings, their sinuous bodies and scaled detailing executed in high relief with remarkable depth and movement. These auspicious creatures, long associated with power, protection, and imperial authority, lend the piece both visual drama and symbolic significance.The stand is supported by four elegantly curved legs, each carved with repeating scale patterns and terminating in rounded feet. A lower circular stretcher shelf, also decorated with a geometric key-fret border, provides stability while echoing the design of the top.Created for the Western export market, this sculptural pedestal would have been used to display porcelain, bronze, or prized decorative objects.
