Description (die pierewaaiers) = (the dandies) A collection of rare Tamboerskloof wines inspired by the exceptional grapes that cross our path. “The charm of these wines lies in the quality of the grapes, the care of the hands that create them, and the soul of the places that they come from.” Each wine comes in a recycled paper bag, tied at the top with a thinly cut tyre tube. (die pierewaaiers) Kleinood Tamboerskloof Chenin Blanc (buurman) 2025 buurman = neighbour / guy next door We’ve been admiring our neighbour’s Chenin vines for years. They finally got the hint, and offered us some grapes… 100% Chenin Blanc. This pale straw-coloured wine has a lively nose, with wild flower and white pear. A lemon and lime freshness support the fuller notes of pineapple and passion fruit, elegantly finishing off with hints of perfumed chamomile and tangerine. Wine of Origin: Stellenbosch (Grapes grown 2km from Kleinood Farm) All wines made on Kleinood Farm are Vegan. Winemaker’s Comments: The (buurman) 2025 reveals a slightly deeper, more radiant straw-gold hue, hinting at a season of excellent concentration. The bouquet is defined by a vibrant clarity, offering sophisticated notes of lemon verbena and pomelo underscored by a subtle, flinty minerality. On the entry, the wine is remarkably poised; the ripeness manifests as a supple, silken texture rather than overt sweetness, allowing the bright citrus core to remain the focal point. This zesty tension carries through the mid-palate, where the wine shows impressive weight and a nuanced complexity of white grapefruit and lime leaf. It culminates in a clean, invigorating finish characterized by a distinct maritime saltiness.
