Kleinood is a small farm with just ten hectares devoted to vines. The vineyard is divided, by its natural existing boundaries, into twenty three small blocks. This offers us the privilege of managing each block individually. The grapes from each block are cared for, irrigated, harvested, crushed, fermented and matured in wood separately, to highlight the attributes of that specific block’s terroir. In the winery, we have a hands-on approach that combines technology and tradition. The distinctive yet characteristically understated labels are hand printed with an antique wooden press on handmade paper, hand torn to size, and then pasted onto each individual bottle by hand.
